Gayathri, a friend and collegue of mine had done a nice ROR poster last week. The best part is two ‘enlighted’ programmers smiling at each other. It was good to see ‘enterprise’ level guys blnking at it in surprise. It was an effective internal promotion.

TechCrunch on its first birthday

Yes. Micheal Arrington’s Techcrunch is celebrating it’s 1st birthday. In one year it got into top blogs lists of many blog tracking services. Steve “Persuasion” Rubel has posted a nice post including traffic details of TechCrunch here.

The unique advantage of TC is in it’s focus. Micheal carefully showcases technologies and people (which makes great companies) who are going to transform our lives tomorrow. TC really had created a cool geek community which otherwise would have scattered around Myspace clones.

I really liked the way he had handled Edgeio. Even if its his baby and its a start of a new era (Yes Yes Microformats search), he had launched it normally; without misusing his fame or subscription power.

I say thumbs up to Micheal Arrington.

Robert Scoble Leaves Microsoft

Most celebrated Microsoft blogger, Robert Scoble leaves Microsoft to join a startup PodTech.

In his latest post, Scoble says he is still in good terms with MS.

I love Microsoft and Microsoft did not lose me — at least as a supporter and friend. I am not throwing away my Tablet PC or my Xbox or my other Microsoft stuff. :-)

Robert says he leaves Microsoft because his work there was done and he comes to PodTech to participate in a nascent industry that promises to go nova.

Gaping Void

I have always thought why he had preffered Wordpress over asp.net/msdn blogs as his blogging platform. Did he thought of leaving MS one day to get into mainstream?. Whatever it is, people seems to be happy (and happier) about his decision.

Listen to the latest madpod podcast with Robert here.

The last question remains is, who will be using Scoble’s chair? Nial Kennedy?
