The correct title for this post would have been ‘Is C scalable enough for this?’. I was reading PHP scalability myth (one more time) and found that how people can be very partial about ‘their own’ (Just like they created it) programming languages. I think just like the above strip, people should use apt languages they are comfortable with.
(Thanks to Trisha for this strip.)

Today I got an email from oDesk (Yes. I am getting it regularly) about their performance in the year 2006. They have served a total of 35000 manhours of work through around 8555 jobs posted.

Interesting thing is that PHP/MySQL duo continues to excel in the job market with the largest number of projects posted. But when it comes to payout, .Net with C\# gets an upper hand with ASP in the second (Never thought ASP is still alive?). I love these kind of statistics. It gives a good direction to people where to go for his bread and butter. Of course, It will be interesting to watch what will happen this year.

Robert Scoble Leaves Microsoft

Most celebrated Microsoft blogger, Robert Scoble leaves Microsoft to join a startup PodTech.

In his latest post, Scoble says he is still in good terms with MS.

I love Microsoft and Microsoft did not lose me — at least as a supporter and friend. I am not throwing away my Tablet PC or my Xbox or my other Microsoft stuff. :-)

Robert says he leaves Microsoft because his work there was done and he comes to PodTech to participate in a nascent industry that promises to go nova.

Gaping Void

I have always thought why he had preffered Wordpress over asp.net/msdn blogs as his blogging platform. Did he thought of leaving MS one day to get into mainstream?. Whatever it is, people seems to be happy (and happier) about his decision.

Listen to the latest madpod podcast with Robert here.

The last question remains is, who will be using Scoble’s chair? Nial Kennedy?

Alternate views on Apple’s BootCamp

BootCamp is the latest buzz from Apple. This software enables Apple machines to run Windows along with its supreme Mac OS X in a dual boot setup. But there was a question: Why should Apple let its rival Microsoft to run Windows on their machines? Cnet seems to have an answer: BootCamp is a gimmick - It just let the users to taste both the wines and then compare and decide ultimately.

When America’s doughboys returned from World War I, the question was how they’d ever remain on the farm after seeing Paris. When Windows users get a gander of the Mac, how many will remain loyal to Ctrl-Alt-Delete?

Seeing the latest news about crashing of BootCamp forcing me to believe this in the same way. Anand had posted something funny here earlier.
